LAMA is a soft, rustic and single ply Aran weight yarn consisting of 50% Lama wool and 50% Peruvian Highland wool with a huge choice of beautiful colours.
The colors available in Lama are beautifully composed of natural (undyed), heather and colored tones, custom made for CaMaRose.
The natural colours (uncoloured) in LAMAULD are 6000 RÅHVID, 6001 ASKEGRÅ, 6041 GRÅ, 6080 MELLEMGRÅ, 6100 ELFENBEN, 6180 SAND, 6920 LYS BRUNMELERET, 6930 PERLEMOR and 6960 LYS SANDGRÅ.
This yarn is absolutely beautiful as it looks a little rustic but is incredibly soft. It's a great solid yarn!
Lama wool's fibers are an exclusive natural product, lanolin-free, lightweight and strong.
The hollow structure of the fibers provides an exceptionally good insulating ability, which is why llama wool is considerably warmer than ordinary sheep wool.
The yarn's rustic look, high insulating ability and strength make LAMAULD very suitable for classic Nordic sweaters and cardigans, outerwear and blankets.
The spinning of the yarn means that LAMAULD only reveals itself completely when knitted and blocked.
A knitted and washed swatch is therefore highly recommended to get the full impression of the yarn's properties, expression and softness. Lama wool naturally has very different fiber lengths which gives excess fibers in the working process. The majority of these fibers are flushed out at the first wash, making the result even softer.
